hoki_hera

Broom Corn, main material for brooms.
Portion of the harvested material will remain unused in broom production, and the result of great effort poured into cultivation will become mere offcuts.
hoki_hera is a farm and broom friendly shoe horn made by maximizing these not so ordinary offcuts.

“Matsumoto Hoki (broom) is a craft in Matsumoto, Nagano. When I visited the maker, they insisted to see their farm. The workshop makes the broom from the process of growing the raw material: 70% of the work is done on the farm and 30% is the making the product. I learned that the material for the broom is carefully selected which results in a lot of offcuts so I designed a shoehorn made out of the offcuts. ”
