Creative Director and Designer, Founder of Shizuka Tatsuno Studio Inc. After graduating from Kingston University London with a degree in Product & Furniture Design, she became independent in 2011. Her work focuses on discovering the potential within materials, production environments, and given conditions, and transforming them into clear and meaningful designs. She works across functional products and poetic objects, combining conceptual thinking with practical structure.

Beyond aesthetics, she collaborates closely with brands and manufacturers to define core concepts and overall directions. By establishing a clear axis for each project, she develops designs that are clear, coherent, and responsive to each production context. Product design is at the core of her practice, which also extends into creative direction, exhibition design, and art production.

She has served as a judge for various design awards and has received numerous awards, including the ELLE DECOR Japan “Young Japanese Design Talents” Award and the Good Design Award. Please scroll below to view other past projects under Awards / Exhibition
