Circle of Fragments
A relief woven from the blue and white that symbolize Novo Nordisk.
As light shifts and viewpoints change, the form of a circle softly emerges.
Pieces of wood that once had no place to go lean toward one another, supporting each other as they shape a single circle.
Within it resonates a calm, sustainable rhythm of circulation—one that feels like living together.
Created for the Tokyo office of the Danish pharmaceutical company, the wall artwork “Circle of Fragments” was designed in dialogue with its surrounding space.

“This work was conceived through interviews with employees of Novo Nordisk Pharma Ltd., in which they reflected on the characteristics of the installation site and explored how the company’s vision for the future could be given form.
Fragments of wood are assembled in an ordered arrangement, where rhythm emerges from repetition, and the circular form subtly changes its expression with shifting light and viewing angles, bringing a quiet presence to the space.
The piece was produced in collaboration with Karimoku Furniture Inc. Though minimal in structure, the work demands a high level of precision, made possible by the company’s advanced craftsmanship. This piece is made from unused wood from the factory, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability.
